Recruitment and Consent Form

My name is Garine Palandjian and I am currently a doctoral student under the direction of Dr. Iveta Silova at Arizona State University in the United States of America conducting research on Armenian borders and identities in education. I am conducting research on memories and stories of teachers - who attended educational training abroad where they interacted with the “other” and teachers who recall coexistence with the “other” - and how their experiences inform their pedagogical practices. Prior to my doctoral studies, I was a former employee of the American University of Armenia and served as the Manager of the Center for Student Success (2013-2017).

Իմ անունը Կարինէ Փալանճեան է: Այժմ ես ԱՄՆ-ի Արիզոնայի պետական համալսարանի ասպիրանտուրայի ուսանող եմ` դոկտոր Իվետա Սիլովայի ղեկավարության ներքո։
Հետազոտական աշխատանքիս թեման վերաբերում է արտասահմանում (որտեղ հանդիպել են այլ ուսուցիչների և հիշում են դա) վերապատրաստում անցած ուսուցիչների հիշողություններին եւ պատմություններին և թե ինչպես է նրանց ստացած փորձը ազդում իրենց մանկավարժական գործունեության վրա: Ասպիրանտուրա դիմելուց առաջ, 2013-2017թթ. աշխատել եմ Հայաստանի ամերիկյան համալսարանում`որպես Ուսանողների գերազանցության կենտրոնի մենեջեր:


Participation in this research includes a preliminary interview that may take up to 60 minutes. The purpose of the preliminary interview is to understand teachers’ experiences with borders and identities and how these experiences influence their pedagogical practices. Prior to the interview, I would like to observe how you teach and discuss these concepts in the classroom.

Այս հետազոտության շրջանակներում իրականացվող հարցազրույցը կարող է տևել մինչև 1 ժամ։ Հարցազրույցի նպատակն է ուսումնասիրել ուսուցիչների փորձառությունները սահմանների եւ ինքնության մասին, և թե ինչպես են այդ փորձառությունները ազդում նրանց մանկավարժական մեթոդների վրա։


During the interview, you are welcome to share any artifacts (ie. pictures, maps, diaries, etc.) that may help you tell your story. All interviews will be audio recorded and conducted in the Armenian and English languages and analysis will take place simultaneously throughout the process. Please note that your information and answers will remain entirely confidential. The results of this study may be used in reports, presentations, or publications but your name will not be used. There are no foreseeable risks involved with your participation. Your participation is voluntary, and you may choose to not answer any question or stop your participation at any time.

Հետազոտության ընթացքում կարող եք օգտագործել տարբեր միջոցներ (օր.` նկարներ, քարտեզներ, օրագրեր/գրառումներ և այլն) Ձեր հիշողությունները պատմելու համար: Բոլոր հարցազրույցները պետք է ձայնագրվեն և կանցկացվեն հայերեն և անգլերեն լեզուներով, իսկ վերլուծական աշխատանքները կլինեն գործընթացին զուգահեռ: Խնդրում եմ նկատի ունենալ, որ Ձեր տված տեղեկությունների ու պատասխանների գաղտնիությունն ապահովվում է։ Այս հետազոտության արդյունքները հնարավոր է օգտագործվեն կամ հրապարակվեն զեկույցներում, ելույթներում, սակայն Ձեր անունը չի նշվի։ Ձեր մասնակցությունը չունի որևէ կանխատեսելի ռիսկեր։ Ձեր մասնակցությունը իրականացվում է կամավոր սկզբունքով, այսինքն կարող եք չպատասխանել որևէ հարցի կամ որևէ պահի կարող եք դադարեցնել հարցազրույցը։
